The predecessor of theDepartment of Computer Teaching and Researchis the Department of Mathematics and Computer Teaching and Research. The first course Basic Programming was designed and taughtin 1983. To further develop the curriculum and the program, the Department of Computer Teaching and Research was established in 1989.
In 2006, we initiated the 1+X curriculum scheme to meet the requirements described in theKnowledge Structure and Curriculum Developmentin College Education for Foundations in Computer Scienceenacted by the Ministry of Education. It includes one required course, the Introduction to Computer Science, plus several core courses (required or elective courses). In 2016, we incorporated thegraded teaching concepts and methodsto the original curriculum scheme. Over the years, the fundamental ideas in the construction and development of the programhave been evolved, which is to emphasize in application and practice, with the aim to teach students the skills and abilities in computational thinking.
Currently, we have 10 faculty members in the department, 4 associate professors, 4 lecturers, 1 senior technician, and 1 technician; and of all faculty members, 4with doctoral degree and 5 with master’s degree. Any of them had academic visiting in famous universities overseas.
We now offer courses toboth undergraduate and graduate students in all departments of the university.
Here are the required courses: Introduction to Computer Science, Medical Information Processing with Computer, Medical Information Processing in MATLAB.
Here are the elective courses: The C Programming Language, The Application Software of Computer, Image Processing, Computer Network and Webpage Production, The Application of 3D Animation, Bioinformatics Programming Language, Introduction to Database, Information theory and medical information processing, The Maintenance and Repair of Computer, Management Information Systems, Application of SPSS in Medicine.
Our faculty members haveconducted and been actively involved in many scientific research projects at all levels, with three major research areas: Computer application in medicine and Bioinformatics, Medical Information Processing with Computer, Data Mining and Medical Statistics, Application of deep learning in medical image, Artificial intelligence based on Medical Big Data
